Project Description:

KLEBS Mechanical, Inc. (KLEBS) served as a Mechanical Subcontractor for the Western North Slope Mud Plant, a facility designed to support one of the largest drilling rigs in the world located in the sensitive ecosystem on the North Slope in Alpine, Alaska. KLEBS provided mechanical design assistance and installation services for this facility featuring four, 500 barrel mix tanks, a mix materials staging area, two high speed overhead doors, two articulated arm cranes, mix process equipment on a grated mud-mix platform, offices and a laboratory, as well as training, locker and laundry rooms, a mechanical room and support spaces.  The project included:

  • Procurement and Installation of a new Air Handling Unit
  • Procurement and installation of new Exhaust Fans
  • Procurement and installation of new Grilles, Registers & Diffusers
  • Fabrication and installation of new supply, return and exhaust air duct
  • Mechanical Engineering/Design
