Project Description:

The US Army Corps of Engineers issued a design-build solicitation to construct a 50,000 Square foot 2 story addition onto the existing Buckner Fitness center.  This addition would accommodate an indoor natatorium with water slides and other features, as well as additional work out rooms, fitness equipment, and an indoor running track.  A summary of KLEBS scope of work includes:

  • Provided technical design assistance through the pre-construction phase of the project, including reviewing plans and specifications for quality, accuracy, cost control, and constructability.
  • Installed all plumbing and mechanical systems to include roof top mounted prefabricated mechanical room complete with ventilation systems, boilers, and all accessories; extensive snowmelt system for exterior sidewalks; all plumbing drain waste and vent systems; all duct fabrication and sheet metal system installations
  • Provided on site quality control for plumbing and mechanical scope of work.  Provided project management services including coordination of scheduling and milestones, daily reports and job site documentation, quality control inspections, RFI and ASI tracking and documentation, and commissioning and final testing processes.
  • Coordination and clash detection for plumbing and mechanical systems, coordination of systems and work activities with other trades and specialty contractors.
