Energy Saving Tips For Your Home

You have the power to help save the planet — and your home energy bills! Here are a few ideas you can put to work for you today, along with more substantial changes that will pay for themselves — perhaps many times over — and save you hundreds, even thousands of dollars.

The key to achieving big savings in your home is to take a whole-house energy efficiency approach. For example, you’ll probably save a lot of money on your energy bills by updating your heating system, but you’ll save a great deal more if you also make sure your ducts, walls, attic, windows and doors are all properly sealed.

Which projects should you do first?
Your time and budget may dictate your decision. You may want to note that heating accounts for the biggest chunk of a typical utility bill. Therefore, updating to a more efficient heating system and minimizing heat loss in your home will probably deliver the greatest cost savings.
